What happened?

For the past 60 years or so youth’s music has been about rebellion, anger and pissing off our parents. Recently I feel that we’ve lost touch with what’s been so important in music for years. Nowadays the charts have been polluted with generic bombastic drivel with a synthesizer and a good looking half naked teenage girl. Sure there are musicians who are making great music… but it’s still mostly one dimensional. Music isn’t just about music. Music unites art, poetry, politics, emotion, and many other forms… or at least it used to. These are all being stripped and our music is becoming shallow and boring. A change should be coming soon – just as it has before. Otherwise I guess we’ve all just run out of ideas.
